Let’s Pray Better --- Part of my future ebook

During this difficult season, we can improve and increase our prayers.

As we invest times in prayer then we will enjoy more peace of mind.

Our mental and emotional chaos will decrease as we earnestly pray and praise God.

Praying for ourselves brings the grace and tender mercies of God into our life.

Praying for others takes our minds and emotions away from our needs, wants, worries, fears, uncertainties, and more.

Praying brings us into the presence of God and puts us into the flow of the love of God

Prayer is a way for you and your children to express love for one another and those worldwide that are in crisis.

We have options to pray alone, with family members, with a prayer partner, and/or with an online prayer group.

Our skill of praying will improve with much practice.

When we pray effectively then God answers our prayers for ourselves and others. Then witnessing the answers to prayer strengthens our hope and fuels our faith to pray more.

I challenge us to seize this golden opportunity to practice praying much more.

In order to help you pray better, I offer you the attachments. They are filled with inspiration, instructions, and guidelines. These include samples of my general prayers and praises. There are units that are oriented to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. There are key Bible verses that are timely for this stressful season.

You are invited to use them just as they are and to adapt them to suit your situation. That includes translating them into another language.

The attachments took me more than 200 hundred hours to create. Most of that time was invested in editing and polishing.

These are offered in 5 ways to make each one easy to print out and to share with others on social media.

The one titled Coronavirus Prayer Guide is an updated and expanded version of the one is sent out about a month ago. This addresses our current conditions and calls for targeted prayers. 7 pages

The one titled Praying for Essential Workers is a list of the kinds of workers for our extra prayers. 1 page

The one titled SPP core units has 7 units that are useful during these difficult times and will be relevant for years to come. 14 pages

The one titled Highlighted Bible Verses is offered as an aid to suggest selected parts of the Bible to focus on during this shutdown season. 6 pages

The one titled SPP all units has all of the previous materials plus a Preface and an Appendix with many bonus pages that are intended to strengthen your hope and faith currently and for years to come. 56 pages

Many of these units are just one page long, yet that page is packed with truths you might want to reread.

These documents were written on my laptop and formatted to print out on letter-size paper. I do not know how well they will read on a smartphone or tablet.

Please make time to prayerfully read all this material. I poured my whole heart and soul into these pages. This was the most difficult project I have ever done.

There is a volume 3 that is in the works. When that has been completed and shared then I will weave all 3 volumes into a single ebook. Please pray for that process and final product to unfold gracefully.

I believe that the best way to serve you and others is to help us to pray better.

Please pray for God to prepare the hearts of those who will appreciate and use these resources.

Please forward this to many prayerful people.

Shalom
John S. Oliver

PS Please let me know what parts you like the most.

Coronavirus Prayer Guide

Coronavirus Prayer Guide Let us pray about the short-term and long-term impacts of the coronavirus (the technical name is covid-19). Let us pray earnestly for family members, friends, and many others worldwide. Let us pray for others like we would want them to pray for us.   As a retired person, I have had more time to research and ponder this matter than those who must juggle family responsibilities, careers, and other demands on their time.  The following is a simple summary of important matters related to the coronavirus. This goes far beyond personal health concerns. There are many other considerations. Each of these considerations can serve as fuel for your faith-filled prayers. This takes the long term and big picture perspective that the media ignores.  It is my conviction that it is better to know the full truth as soon as possible. Then thoughts, feelings, prayers, plans, and actions can be adjusted to conform to reality. This is better than kno...
